New Life Expectancy Table Question

Hello, If we have a trust BDA set up in 2016 and we are taking the rmd’s of the oldest bene LE of 24.5 in 2016 so based on the old table it would 18.5 for 2022.

With the new tables do we have to figure out what the benes age would be in 2022 and use that for the factor? What would we want to use for the factor in 2022 using the new tables.

Thank you.

You must enter the new table for the year beneficiary RMDs started. 24.5 is not shown as a divisor in the old tables, so something is amiss there. Did the IRA owner pass in 2015?  What was the age of the oldest trust beneficiary in the first beneficiary RMD year? You would enter the new table for that age to get a new initial divisor, then subtract 1.0 for each year thereafter through 2022 to get the new divisor, then keep deducting 1.0 for all future years.
