Tax

Apologize in advance because this is not an IRA question but I can find no source for an answer.

A client was paid unemployment in 2021 but for 2020 as the State was so far behind. Is there a mechanism to avoid taxation on it due to the Cares Act since it was rightfully 2020 unemployment but due to the State wasn’t paid until 2021?

Again appreciate any direction.
