After Tax 401(k) conversion to Roth IRA

Is it possible to convert just the after tax portion of a 401(k) to a Roth IRA without also at the same time converting the pre-tax amount?

The after tax non Roth balance is held in a separate sub account along with any gains on these contributions. An in plan Roth rollover or a direct rollover to a Roth IRA solely from the after tax sub account can be done. The only taxable component of such a rollover will be the amount of gains in the after tax sub account. Care should be taken when requesting such a rollover that only after tax sub account funds are used.
