Your first RMD distribution year is 2022, but you have until 4/1/2023 to complete that RMD. Therefore, if you did not complete the 2022 RMD in 2022, both your 2022 and 2023 RMDs must be distributed in 2023. To be clear, your RMD starting age would only have been 73 if you reached 72 in 2023. At least you got the benefit of the former age 70.5 increase to age 72.
