IRA RMD question
Hello,
I have a 62 year old Female client born 01/29/1960 who just inherited a traditional IRA from her deceased mother who died in 2022 at the age of 95. Her DOB was 03/10/1927 and she took her 2022 RMD while she was alive.
My client is disabled, she has MS. I want to confirm that because of her illness the 10 year rule would not apply? The 12/31/22 account value was $265,922.17. Could you please tell me what her 2023 RMD amount would be? Thanks in advance for your help. George

Yes, provided she meets the requirement for being disabled, she is an EDB and her RMDs would be based on her single life expectancy, same as prior to the Secure Act. Client’s age in 2023 will be 63 and divisor is 24.5. RMD is 10,853.97.
