Inherited IRA under Trust name FBO – which EIN or SS# to use?
An inherited IRA goes to trust as beneficiary.
Beneficiary receives inherited IRA and brokerage Account is set up as “Trust Name FBO (For Benefit Of) Jane Doe”
What tax ID is used?
a) EIN for now irrevocable Trust,
b) EIN for new subtrust “Trust Name FBO Jane Doe”,
c) Jane Doe’s SS#,
or?

b) because any distributions wlll be made to the subtrust and reported on a 1099R.
