RMDs on Post 2019 Inherited IRAs
I’m sure this is all over the discussion forum so I apologize to ask it again I didn’t see it, but what is the official answer on RMDs for 10 year spend down inherited IRAs? It appears the majority of opinions is saying there is now an RMD just like the prior type of inherited IRAs plus the requirement to reach zero by year 10, but are there any instances where it is not that, like if the deceased wasn’t RMD age etc? Thanks,

Yes, if the deceased passed prior to RBD, the beneficiary will not have to take annual RMDs within the 10 year rule. Otherwise, if deceased passed after their RBD they will according to the proposed IRS Regs, which are still not final.
