RMD calculation for Marital Trust

Husband died in 2020 at age 75. Bene of his IRA was the Marital Trust (spouse of course is sole bene of trust). Her DOB is 07/13/1953. How would RMDs be calculated? Table 1 each year based on Spouse’s age or would it be reduced by 1 after the initial factor was determined? Would 10 year rule apply?

Thanks!

If the trust is a qualified conduit trust, the spouse’s divisor will be from the single life table each year (no 1.0 reduction) and the 10 year rule does not begin until the surviving spouse passes. If the trust is a qualified accumulation trust the 10 year rule applies immediately, and the divisor will be based on the oldest trust beneficiary’s age with annual 1.0 reduction.
