Social Security Benefits for a Surviving Spouse
I acknowledge this is off topic a bit … but here goes:
Husband dies in his 50’s. At the time there were no minor children, or children at all from their marriage. The surviving spouse had and has a full-time career and makes mid-six figure income. Now years later the surviving spouse turns 60 this year. Is she eligible for survivor benefits based on the husband’s ss account/credits until she turns 70 and begins taking her benefits?
