Also see the Addendum to your original post, reference to Pub 590 A, p 23 and a copy of the applicable tax code Section. The key is that you took only ONE distribution, and no matter how many rollover contributions you split that into, there was still only ONE distribution that you can roll over in as many portions as you wish.
