ROTH IRA Rollovers to a 401(K) ROTH

Good afternoon to all!

A 401(K) employee participant in one of my groups wishes to rollover his Individual ROTH assets into the employer’s 401(K) ROTH plan.

I researched the answer and learned that the IRS allows these rollovers. Empower, however, has advised my client that this is not so.

Your professional guidance is highly valued. My name is Armando Paz, Jr. and my email address is: eval(unescape(‘%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%61%70%61%7a%6a%72%40%64%65%2d%62%65%6e%65%66%69%74%73%2e%63%6f%6d%22%3e%61%70%61%7a%6a%72%40%64%65%2d%62%65%6e%65%66%69%74%73%2e%63%6f%6d%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b’))

Thank you!

As indicated in the IRS chart, the tax code only permits a distribution from a Roth IRA to be rolled over to a Roth IRA, not to any other kind of Roth account.
