RMD & Conversion
I plan to take my 1st RMD this year and some Roth conversion. Can I do these both in four parts or do I have to satisfy the RMD in its entirety before the conversion is done ? Also, since conversions must be done by Dec-31, I think I forfeit postponing any of the RMD until Apr of 2025, not part of my plan anyway. Lastly, I’m not 73 until late in the year but I will have taken 2 or 3 installments by then. I assume that’s not an issue but want to make sure I make no costly mistakes 🙂
Please Advise. Thanks,Ron

Yes, you must complete your 2024 RMD for all non Roth IRAs you own before you can do any conversions. It does not matter when you turn 73, if in 2024.
