IRA at death

I have IRA AS OWNER and primary beneficiary and taking RMD. I have named my spouse as succesor beneficiary and my children and grandchildren per stripe to follow. based on my view me or my spouse will never take more than RMD. WHAT is best way i can direct my chilren or grandchildren to take rmd only

Your spouse is the primary beneficiary and the others are contingent beneficiaries. If you want to control what the others do after your death, you will have to name a trust for the others as your beneficiary. It may not be wise to limit the distributions, as the beneficiaries may need the funds, and if the trust accumulates the income it will be taxed at the higher trust tax rates, and the 10 year rule will result in a very large distribution to the trust in year 10 due to the Secure Act limitations.
