Only if a participant challenges the cost basis figure since the purchase dates and amounts would be needed to determine if the cost basis was correct. Perhaps the plan has the info but does not want it known to prevent participants from requesting that higher cost basis shares be sold in the plan so that only lower cost basis shares are distributed and used for NUA.
